Cowden Plantation, located deep in the South Carolina Lowcountry, is rich with a bounty of wildlife. When you slip into the swamps, you’ll step back in time as you walk in the shadow of massive cypress trees, guardians for almost two thousand years of this prized hunting land. Stalk your prey in 10,000 acres of beautifully managed habitat and experience the tradition and beauty that is Cowden Plantation.
Cowden Plantation has hosted many famous sporting names, such as Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, legendary test pilot Gen. Chuck Yeager, media mogul Ted Turner, Hall of Fame MLB player Chipper Jones, music icon Hank Williams Jr., NASCAR legends Dale Earnhardt and Davey Allison, and country music star Travis Tritt.
Get away for a day hunt or plan a weekend outing with friends. Or reward those who work hard for you—take a break from the daily grind and reconnect with nature at Cowden Plantation. Meeting facilities are available, along with lodging for ten and meals for groups of four or more. For parties larger than ten, we can arrange accommodations off-site and have hosted groups up to forty-five.
Relax and enjoy the natural beauty—you’ll find yourself in a laid-back setting where hunting is fun, not work! We welcome hunters of all ages, from youth to seniors, men and women alike. Whether you prefer one type of hunt or a variety, we’ll match your style.
Cowden Plantation was featured in an article by acclaimed outdoor writer Bryce M. Towsley, in an American Hunter article entitled—Rules of the Range. Towsley highlighted both the challenge and the world-class deer quality found at Cowden.
